Is this a typo:

When I finally got it, it took my eyes a while to adjust. I had to develop an intimate understanding of precisely how our economic and political systems were designed with intentional inequality to stay out of the cave. “The shadows are kind of cool!” Give me a break.

Fixed:

Looks like she's saying that she needed an intimate understanding of the design of our society to keep herself from going back into the cave, so your fix would just be saying something different and not a fix.

I too have been trapped in my own cave watching the shadows on the wall.

Trying to get others to see what they can’t or won’t see is among the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life.

How do we show those who vehemently refuse to leave their seats in the cave? Do we let them stay? As a person of color, is this my focus, or should this work be left to white bodies (when talking to other white folks)?
